ADULT PRETRIAL TEST
The Adult Pretrial Test (APT) is
designed for adult defendant (male and female) assessment in court settings.
This test is particularly appropriate because the Substance Abuse/Dependency
Scale is solidly based upon DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders, Fourth Edition) symptomatology and criteria.
The APT has been standardized (normed) on over 85,000 defendants and has
demonstrated very impressive reliability, validity and accuracy. This test
meets and exceeds the professionally accepted standards appropriate for
misdemeanor and felonies.
The APT has 162 items, takes 35 minutes to complete and has seven measures
(scales):
1. Truthfulness Scale
2. Alcohol Severity Scale
3. Drugs Severity Scale
4. Substance Abuse/Dependency Scale
5. Lethality (Violence) Scale
6. Antisocial Reaction Scale
7. Stress Quotient Scale
|
Substance Abuse/Dependency is classified in terms of DSM-IV criteria,
while concurrently measuring the severity of alcohol and drug abuse.
