Suicide Evaluation
The Suicide Evaluation is a test that helps identify suicidal people.
The Suicide Evaluation has 140 items, takes 30 to 35 minutes to complete, and has 6 scales (measures):
- Truthfulness Scale
- Suicide Scale
- Alcohol Scale
- Drugs Scale
- Depression Scale
- Stress Coping Abilities Scale
|
Setting professional responsibility and accountability aside for now, counselors, caregivers, mental health professionals
and treatment personnel are becoming aware of the need to include a "suicide screen" in their intake screening procedures.
The Suicide Evaluation is a self-report test that is scored online with reports printed within 2½ minutes at your offices. The Suicide Evaluation's
Truthfulness Scale measures client truthfulness while they completed the test.
Including the Suicide Evaluation in one's intake procedures enhances patient care, reduces liability and facilitates appropriate intervention.
Each of the 6 Suicide Evaluation scales provides important suicide-related information. The Truthfulness Scale is particularly important.
And any review of "suicide" research emphasizes the importance of depression and substance abuse. Moreover, the Suicide Scale assesses
both overt and covert suicidal thinking. In addition, the Stress Coping Abilities Scale screens established emotional and mental health
problems. Experienced counselors, therapists and mental health professionals include suicide screening in their client intake policy.
